All-time best NFL team-preliminary

Who is the best NFL team ever? The undefeated '72 Dolphins? The '85 Bears? The '66 Packers? Or another team? For the preliminary round, nominate a team or teams that you think belong in the field of 16 teams, and why you think that team or teams belong in the tournament.

The rules are:

The team had to have played in the NFL, i.e after the merger in 1966, so unfortunantly, th Canton Bulldogs can't be included in this tournament.

The team has to have one the superbowl in that year, meaning that the 1999-00 Vikings, the 07-08 Patriots, etc. cannot be included in this tournament.

Also, only one team from each organization can enter the tournament, so, for example, the 97 and 98 Broncos cant both be in the tournament. Other than that, have fun, and get nominating!

'85 Bears

They were well-rounded, complete, dominating, and they won the Super Bowl, therefore they qualify.....in a blowout

97'-99' Denver Broncos. two super bowls, League MVP, Future HOF QB, TE, WR (maybe), 13 straight wins in 98'-99'. major underdogs in the first super bowl against the Packers. had a great offense and defense. and the team was made up of qite a few low round picks (or undrafted) and cast aways from other teams. and they are vastly underrated when people talk about great super bowl teams.

another would be the Steelers of the 70's. 4 super bowls, 10 or more HOFers came from that team (dont remember exactly)

my two cents.

I don't agree with your rules.  The 2007 Patriots are the best NFL team ever and better than any of the Super Bowl winning teams.

As much as love the Pats, the '07 Petriots were clearly not as good as the '07 Giants.

2003 patriots were awesome 15 straight wins to close out the season after a 2-2 start
